Indian Wedding in Melbourne

Ashok and Roopa’s Vibrant Indian Wedding in Melbourne.

Earlier this year, I had the pleasure of photographing Ashok and Roopa’s Australian side of their Indian wedding. This was the second ceremony for the happy couple, as they had celebrated their huge, traditional Indian wedding in India a few weeks before. I was in awe whilst photographing Roopa’s jewellery details, as she adorned herself in multicolored bangles, earrings and a beautifully ornate necklace. Her Tikka headpiece was stunning, and her sari wedding dress was amazingly detailed. As I placed her dress to take some hanging photographs, I was surprised at just how heavy it was, weighed down by incredibly intricate beading and embroidery.

Ashok and Roopa’s family joined the couple for family photos, all dressed in brightly coloured saris and traditional Indian attire. This made for a stunning array of colour and costume, as I photographed the two families coming together as one. They, and other guests of the wedding had traveled from far and wide to attend Ashok and Roopa’s wedding, with Roopa herself flying down from Brisbane and Ashok’s family flying in from New Zealand. It was incredible to watch the highlights of Ashok and Roopa’s Indian wedding projected on a large screen at the reception, which allowed the close family and friends that did attend, to relive the magic of the day. This was then followed by a wedding ceremony that incorporated aspects from both Indian and Australian marriage traditions. The reception was a wash of brightly coloured costume, and the dancefloor was soon packed with families and friends coming together to laugh, dance and celebrate the marriage between Ashok and Roopa.

This fun, colourful and energetic Indian Wedding was a pleasure to photograph, and I wish the happy couple all the best in their new life together.

Wedding Proposal

Yering Station Wedding Proposal – Photographed and Filmed

Paul contacted me a few weeks prior to his proposal wanting to know if I would be able to capture it on film for him

Paul’s proposal was beautifully planned, he had told Elise’s girlfriends that they had a Groupon deal for a lunch in the Yarra Valley, and that a driver will come and collect them individually to drop them out to the beautiful winery, Yering Station in the Yarra Valley.

I met Paul at Yering station 30 minutes before Elise was scheduled to arrive, and discussed where I would be and the general plan of how this was to all unfold.  In the next 20 minutes I captured the details and the venue, and the engagement ring, along with setting up a discrete video camera.

The plan was perfect.  The driver was to let Paul know when they were a few minutes away, and that the car will pull up at the end of the driveway, giving me a clear photo of Elise getting out of the car.  As she walked down the path, Paul would be hiding behind a private hedge surrounding a single tree, complete with an amazing engagement ring, flowers, cheese platter and of course Champagne from Yering Station!

Just before the car approached a group of Asian tourists arrived and were about to walk down the path where Paul planned to propose, thankfully they were Chinese and I was able to communicate with them and explain the plan and they were more than happy to view the Winery from the other way first. They were both excited for Paul and shocked with how fluent I am in Chinese. This is yet another time where speaking a few languages has been a godsend!

Anyways, The car came into sight and we could see the car slowing down to turn off the highway into the driveway of Yering Station.

We all hid / took our places….. 30 seconds later a black BMW sedan pulls up and the driver let’s a very unsuspecting Elise out of the car, she gets out and starts walking down the path…. I take a few shots from a distance, using a very long lens then subtly head back into the my discrete spot.   Capturing Paul nervously waiting on the other side of the hedge.

Elise strolled along the path looking forward to meeting her girlfriends at the restaurant ahead of her!

“Elise” Paul stands up and says!
“Paul!” what are you doing here????

Paul drops to one knee, pulls out the ring and proposes to Elise!

Following with a picnic at the winery, and then dinner that evening, Paul stepped it up a notch having Elise’s mum secretly pack her bags to then surprise her with a week long trip to Fiji!! Wow! Very impressive planning Paul, you’ve certainly made it hard for all your mates who haven’t popped the question yet! lol

A picture tells a thousand words, I was able to be distant enough to make the proposal intimate and still fairly private whilst capturing these emotional and beautiful images for them to share with their family and friends.

These photos have affected many of Noble Photography’s followers! There is something about witnessing a Wedding Proposal, thats so special that even people who don’t know the couple are effected! I feel very privileged to capture this occasion to help Paul and Elise share with all! Congratulations and Thank-you for having me there!

Enjoy! Thanks for booking me already for your wedding, that’s not been organised yet!    Look forward to catching up soon, and showcasing your amazing wedding proposal!

Wedding Proposal Photographed & Filmed

A Surprise Wedding Proposal In The Yarra Valley!

Have you ever had those magical moments and wished you had it all captured on film to share with loved ones and show how amazing it was…??  Documenting these special moments is something we at Noble Photography are passionate about!  Whether you film it to have on record for yourselves, too keep it private between the two of you and to be able to look back on and watch over and over or to share the moment with the world, it s a wonderful keepsake to share with future generations to come!!

Jay had planned on proposing to Jasmine whilst holidaying overseas but when Jay sensed that Jasmine had an idea this was on the cards he put the thinking cap on and held off hoping to up the anti for when they returned!

Jasmine was told that she was going out to lunch with her girlfriends for her birthday, so she was dressed nicely and had a limo come to pick her up, from there Jasmine was chauffeured Essendon Airport where a helicopter was waiting to take her to Debortoli winery in the Yarra Valley.

Debortoli in the Yarra Valley consists of the most beautiful gardens overlooking the vineyards which provide the most idyllic setting for photography.

Jay was waiting for Jasmins arrival at Debortoli where he had set-up a banner that read “Marry Me Bubba” that could clearly be read from the sky!  We watched as he nervously hammered the sign into the ground waiting on her arrival.

The chopper landed and we captured the beautiful wedding proposal that Jay had so carefully planned out!  Its a question thats always asked couples “ How did he propose?”  and what a fabulous thing to have to show people and to answer, ‘Well I’ll show you!”

Being such an impressive proposal we decided to also shoot video of the event, along with a time-lapse camera that captured the whole moment as the world moved and time passed them by.

After the big proposal we organised to do a mini location portrait session, or literally an engagement session! amongst the vines!

Our newly engaged Jay and Jasmine hopped back into the helicopter, headed for a romantic lunch at together at another nearby winery.

Thanks Jay for having us document such a momentous occasion in your lives!  Great job mate! As I said to you on the day, “You are really setting the bar high for all of your mates!!” Thanks again for having the team at Noble Photography there!

All the best, and hope to see you at your wedding! :)

Werribee Mansion Wedding

Werribee Mansion Wedding Ceremony of Nick and Laura

Nick and Laura share a love for Adventure, animals and food, making a picnic at the Melbourne Zoo the perfect place for Nick to propose to Laura on their 6th year anniversary, they met at Vet School over 7.5 years ago and have travelled extensively together through Africa and Europe.  Most of their best memories are from their trips and are looking forward to their Nepal and India trip for their honeymoon.

Laura describes her wedding style as relaxed and elegant with lots of natural touches for their spring theme in green, soft peaches and pinks.  The wedding was held in the beautiful and natural surroundings of the Picturesque Werribee Mansion Gardens.  10 acres of beautiful gardens making the most exquisite backdrop for wedding photography.  Werribee Gardens has it all! Beautiful Architecture, spectacular manicured gardens and historic Seminary.

Laura looked beautiful in her Karen Willis Holmes lace Empire style gown.  The gown consisted of gorgeous Lace Cap sleeves, a flattering v-neck and a detailed beaded belt which was teamed with a simple finger length veil.

I loved all the effort that went into the details of this wedding making it very personal and special to the couple.  For example their cute cake with dreamy little figurines resembling them in the sweetest pose and of course their two cats Rudy and Scout.  The personalised blackboard and the beautiful flowers were just gorgeous also.
